I am a French software engineer. I started coding at 12, in QBasic and Turbo Pascal, then moved through C++ and PHP to Python, which has been my main language ever since. These days most of my tools are written in Rust, a language I am learning with AI in the loop.
For more than 20 years I have built business software for large companies, some with over 20,000 employees: firewall and storage management, e-commerce automation, alerting systems. For the last several years my title has been technical architect, programming lead or ITOps depending on the job, but I never stopped writing code.
Now I am going all-in on AI. I build tools for it, like fennec and hominfer, and I write about what it really changes for experienced developers: the AI runs, I frame the work and own the quality.
At home I run a homelab, partly to depend less on the big platforms, and it doubles as my playground for putting agents to work on real systems.
How I write
I write the content of every post. Claude rewords it, and I approve every sentence before it goes out. Every figure links to its source.
